My name is Dedj Leibbrandt and I’m running the London Marathon. I was born in S. Africa under apartheid and left in 1979 because of the unjust regime. Raising money for Tools for Self Reliance is a small thing that I can do to give something back to Africa ’s indigenous peoples.

 I’m not an athlete, nor am I running for a supersonic finishing time. I am a 47 year old woman on an extremely gruelling training programme. It gets longer each weekend. I don’t want to moan about the hills and speed training - but I will if it will encourage you to sponsor me J.

 When I am not running I am a self employed Medical Herbalist treating people with herbs rather than drugs.
