We have over 200 bed spaces across Bedfordshire and recognise the trauma caused by homelessness. We also offer three domestic abuse support and resettlement teams, a free-to-use food larder, affordable used furniture, and have a boutique interiors and gifts shop to benefit our other services.

Story

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">As one of the organisers of the SleepEasy 2012 event i'm sleeping rough on the night of Saturday 3rd March for YMCA Bedfordshire. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">We will also be running a day time event from 11am-5pm which will include live music, entertainment and fun and games for all the family to enjoy! <br></span></p> <p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">Money you raise will greatly help young people in the Bedford area: <br></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">&pound;30 provides a Crash Pad Bed for the night for a homeless young person, preventing them from having to sleep rough.<span>&nbsp; </span>They get an evening meal, bed for the night, access to washing facilities and breakfast whilst seeking more secure accommodation.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">&pound;50 provides a homeless young person their own room and access to washing facilities, internet, TV lounge in one of our hostels and also general counselling and support.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">&pound;100 provides a month of community participation activities for the residents of our hostels in order to increase their employability and social skills, to help them move on successfully.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: &amp;quot;Futura Book&amp;quot;;">&pound;160 a week would pay for 21 families to receive training to improve pre-school literacy and increase their children&rsquo;s life chances for the future. </span></p>
