The race is actually the weekend of my 40th birthday so it will be the perfect end to my challenge. I am running for the Alzheimers Society and their fight against dementia.

My lovely Nan who passed away a couple of years ago suffered from dementia for many years. I used to visit her daily and we were very close but despite this some days she didn't even recognise me. However, I was lucky as we also had many good days unlike many sufferers of Alzheimers and Dementia.

Those last years I had with my Nan are so precious to me. My Nan didn't get the running/fitness thing, a cup of tea and a biscuit was more her, but I think she would have been proud of this challenge.
