Thanks for visiting my sponsorship page for the Great South Run. This is my final race in my challenge to run '40 miles before I'm 40!'. For more info, please go to www.40miles.co.uk 

The race is actually the weekend of my 40th birthday so it will be the perfect end to my challenge. I am running for the Alzheimers Society and their fight against dementia.

My lovely Nan who passed away a couple of years ago suffered from dementia for many years. I used to visit her daily and we were very close but despite this some days she didn't even recognise me. However, I was lucky as we also had many good days unlike many sufferers of Alzheimers and Dementia.

Those last years I had with my Nan are so precious to me. My Nan didn't get the running/fitness thing, a cup of tea and a biscuit was more her, but I think she would have been proud of this challenge.
