8 Mile Midnight Walk · 12 September 2009

We support local families living with terminal illnesses and bereavement across Hambleton and Richmondshire. Our specialist care allows people to spend their last days in the place of their choice.

Story

As many of you know I was diagnosed in 2001 with a slow growing cancer called Carcinoid Syndrome which I describe as treatable but not curable and over the years I have actually become fitter and healthier than I have been for a long time by using both conventional treatments, lifestyle choices and complementary therapies. Ironically this weekend will also be my eight year anniversary of diagnosis.

When I heard Herriot Hospice Homecare were doing this walk, I wanted to do it, as this small local charity helped us out as a family when we were at a very low point, it's also may be a service I may need in the future so I'd like to help while I can.

Nathan is doing the walk with me, I'm not sure who'll end up holding who up but we'll keep each other going. Please help out if you can.
