Report from Chief Guide : Leonard Solomon
Route : 7 Day TK Rongai

Latest guide report received on Wednesday 8th September 2010 :

All 3 climbers reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro this morning @ 0715 and they are very happy. We will now descend to Kibo Huts for a hot lunch before trekking to Horombo Huts to overnight there.

Dear All

Just over a year ago I overheard my friend Vanessa talking about considering climbing Kilimanjaro. I wasn't even sure where Kilimanjaro was, but at the time it sounded like something good to focus on. So I showed some interest and now here I am, making an attempt at doing so along with Vanessa and another friend, Paul.

We will start the climb on and finish it (hopefully successfully) on . We will be climbing with a company called 'Team Kilimanjaro'. We have just climbed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks as part of our training!

I thought that I would try and raise some money for charity and at first decided to do it solely for Kirkwood Hospice. However, I feel as I am climbing 's highest mountain I should also like to give some money to a charity that supports a project in . I have chosen Margaret Junior School Project (www.margaretjuniorschool-uganda.com).

If you would prefer to donate to Margaret Junior School, please visit: http://www.justgiving.com/DeniseHampsonisclimbingKilimanjaroforMargaretJuniorSchoolProject

I would prefer to have been able to have both charities on one donation page, but sadly this is not possible.

I know that so many people fund raise and appreciate it is not always possible to make a donation to everyone, but I hope you will consider these charities as worthwhile causes.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to read this.

Love Denise x
