Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are running the London Marathon in honour of our special friend Donna who will be sadly missed, but is in our hearts and with us in spirit. Donna was due to run the marathon for Sense, the charity for DeafBlind people. So to continue Donna’s fundraising efforts, we will also be running for Sense. As well as being able to donate on our JustGiving page we will be organising various fundraising events including: a coffee morning/fair in November, a quiz night in January, and the highlight of our fundraising calendar, a fab disco night in February - in the true spirit of Donna's love for a good party! We will keep you informed as we organise dates etc, we hope to see you all there. And if you, or anyone you know can donate raffle prizes for any of these events, we would be extremely greatful!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Just an update for everyone.... we have actually managed to up our game and ran (staggered) 10 miles last Saturday the 16th of January, this gave us a nice boost into our fundraising Quiz Night at which thanks to everyone's help and support we managed to raise £540.00!!! The sale of disco tickets for the 13th of February is now hotting up so do come and join us it should be a really fab night, we hope to see you all there!
We did all well and truly party till our pants fell off!! Well done to everyone who helped us make the 13th go off so fantastically. Everyone had a fab time whilst managing to raise oodles for the cause. Obviously much of our ticket and auction money was already on-line but with the remainder in cash our grand total for the event was a whopping £1,850!!! All we have to do now is get runnnnnnnnnnnnnnning!!!!!
Well we finally did it in 6 hours 9 minutes (no blisters)!!! Wow what an emotional but truly fulfilling experience it has been. We had the most glorious weather, fabulous supporters and a great crowd to help us on our way. Not sure if Bev and Ellis thought it was the best birthday ever, but I think its one they may never forget.
We send an especially big thank you to everyone who has been involved in the full on adventure bus tour, helping us raise funds for such a good cause. Everyone we know and plenty that we don't really know has been very very generous and we send our heartfelt gratitude to one and all.
HUGS
