well ive gone and done it!
Trust me to mention something about having abseiled when i was younger!!
we were just sitting there drinking coffee, and then i found myself saying 'that sounds great, count me in'
the church where Alison is the Curate plays host to a charity that provides opportunities for accessing education and training and are looking to raise some funds to continue the valuable service it provides. below are some details about it.
ASCEND is based in the heart of South Oxhey, an area nationally recognised as a regeneration district with social deprivation issues. As a community based charity, ASCEND’s work is all about moving people forward, challenging their perceived barriers to education and training; providing people with more choice and control over their lives. Thanks to ASCEND, many local people now have the confidence, self-esteem and skills to find a route to employment, some for the first time in their lives. ASCEND also works with young people aged 16 to 25 and is currently planning some exciting new initiatives for them, starting in the new year.

So here I am about to launch myself off a local church tower on the 12th September!
this is where i need your help, prayers are always a good place to start, however, ultimately the aim is to raise funds for the ASCEND Project.
this could either be a personal donation or perhaps you are a member of a group/church that might like to support this very important peice of outreach work, perhaps a recessional offering? or similiar?
i look forward to hearing from you.
Derek
