I'll be walking 55 miles over two days in July. This year I'll be raising money for A Rocha after finding a man in our pony paddocks photgraphing butterflies! It turned out to be Peter Harris who leads this charity doing great work engaging with communities across the world and promoting conservation.
On the day we met I'd been feeling a deep loss at the lack of cuckoo. I've never had such a silent spring. We are losing thousands of species every year. It's only when a very vocal and much loved one goes missing it really hits you.
Couple that great conservation work that A Rocha are doing with education and communities and we're starting to re-create a joined up world.
Please help A Rocha help across the world. Will it bring back 'my' cuckoo? I don't know - but we can all do a little something to try halt the alarming decline of species.
