I was first introduced to When You Wish Upon a Star this year when they made a presentation at our offices at Fraser Brown Solicitors. The stories that they showed us were overwhelming and I could not help but wanting to help these children suffering from life threatening illnesses fulfil their last wish, whatever that was from a little car to a trip in Lapland to meet Santa!!! It is a misfortune and irony of life that these children die, but the least that we can do is be a part of granting their wish, their smile, their happiness and the unforgettable moment for their families is priceless!!!!
I will do a slightly dangerous abseiling at the Ramada Hotel, Derby on 5th December and also the Santa Run the week after on 13th December, please help me to raise my target in time for the children's Christmas wishes!
The website of the charity (www.whenyouwishuponastar.org.uk) has so many wonderful stories and they are breathtaking in their efforts to live their lives to the fullest for whatever remaining days! These children are so strong, a 4 year suffering from cancer and wanting a little car, a 10 year wanting to visit Disney Land and meet his favourite characters, etc, how can we not be a part of their last wish, with our little donation together we can make their day the 'Best Day of their Life'!
Please, help me and the little girl Melissa (only 11 years old and with good health) who wants to help friends same age as she is to fight these illnesses and fulfil their wish same way that she may be able to have all her wishes granted for the years to come, but her friends may or may not celebrate another Christmas amongst us..............................
Me and Melissa aim to raise as much funding for this charity as we can, and we will both run 2km on Wollaton Park in Nottingham on Sunday, 13th December 2009.
