Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi all,

After much deliberation, having promised myself I would never put myself through the pain I went through three years ago on a similar cycle, I am back on my bike to help raise some money for an incredibly worthy and special charity Combat Stress through a 402 km ride over 4 days starting from Brussels on the 4 June and ending in London on Saturday 7 June. This August also marks 5 years since my sister, Vathani, passed away.

A small but significant number of Veterans leave the Armed Forces with psychological wounds. This can lead to depression, phobias, anxiety, relationship problems and, in some cases, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Combat Stress works with Veterans of the British Armed Forces, and members of the Reserve Forces, through effective treatment and support for mental health problems.  Here is a video which I would encourage you to take five minutes to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIdPq81Ldgs .

I will be cycling along with 40 of my work colleagues. As this year marks 100 years since the outbreak of World War 1 the 2014 Tullow charity cycle ride is therefore looking to commemorate this fact by visiting some of the battlefields, trenches, memorials and graveyards of the Great War, and by raising money for injured service personnel in recent conflicts .

The saddle gets very sore indeed and Day 3 and 4 goes from Dover, Tunbridge Wells (inc over BoxHill) and is very hilly on the way back to London!

I would really appreciate any donations of any size. Here is a  video link which i hope works to the last Charity Ride which shows the ride (see video at 15 mins for my cameo)
