In September we will be completing a challenging five-day trek covering 36km of the Great Wall of China with an aim of raising £72,000 for Place2Be. This will go towards Citi's aim of funding 20 schools and change the lives of 9000 children in Tower Hamlets. I saw first hand the impact of this when on a placement at the Institute of Psychiatry as a medical student and the return on investment means for each pound invested, society benefits 6x more through increased employment & earnings and reduced truancy, exclusion, smoking and crime. 

Place2Be provides emotional and therapeutic services in primary and secondary schools, building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play. Place2Be provides children’s mental health services in 294 primary and secondary schools, reaching a total school population of 142,000 pupils, helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma and last year 232 schools took part in their in-depth training programmes.
