Gem Skydive! · 1 August 2010

Games Aid is a UK based games industry charity, acts as an umbrella charity for charities supporting children and young people. Games Aid's mission is to use the skills and passion of the gaming industry to raise funds for these causes. Games Aid is a non-profit organisation run by trustees.

Story

On August 1st this year I will be doing voluntarily what many would love to assist with….that’s leaping from one of these new-fangled flying machines into the sub-stratosphere, armed with nowt but a bag of silk and a large man strapped to my back (who I hope knows what he’s doing).

Yes indeed, I’ll be skydiving for GamesAid who this year is raising money for 5 charities:

- Winston’s Wish (for grieving children and their families);

- The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability;

- Special Effect (helping young people with disabilities to enjoy computer games);

- Action for Kids (disabled young peoples’ charity, mobile equipment, learning and training);

- The Willow Foundation (providing special days for seriously ill 16 to 40 year-olds).

All fantastic organisations, and deserved of any help you can give. Donating online is so quick and easy even I’ve done it....and it's completely secure.

So if the thought of Dom having palpitations at 14,000 ft isn’t incentive enough for you to part with a few quid……your donation goes directly to the charity, and the beauty of Just Giving is that it incorporates Gift Aid from the government, meaning that 25% of your donation will be added on by Mr Cameron!

 Thanks!

Dom.
