UWE Jailbreak · 5 December 2009

We’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. We’re here to make sure children and young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. Join our fight.

Story

On the 5th of December 2009 at 9am we will be at the beginning of a 36 hour worldwide (hopefully) adventure!

We have decided to participate in UWE Jailbreak, a charity event which begins with us being released from a cage at 9am on the 5th of December along with 200 other students in a race to travel as far away from Bristol UWE... Without spending a penny on transport.

With no money, our only option is to hitchhike and rely on the generousity of locals and lonely lorry drivers!

To make matters worse, providing we meet our goal of £200, we have agreed to complete this journey dressed in an outfit of your choice! (Best suggestion will be decided by our housemates) so please give your suggestions!

The charity which UWE Jailbreak has chosen to support this year is YoungMinds, the only national charity committed to promoting and improving the mental health of children and young people across the UK. One of the fundamental purposes of the charity is to provide support for children and young people suffering from mental distress, and those who care for them.

We hope this challenge will be a great experience that will allow us to raise lots of money for a very worthy cause!

Thankyou to everyone who donates, we will hopefully have lots of pictures and stories for you all when we get back!

                  James and Dom
