So far the generic text. I have chosen to run the Exmoor Coastal Marathon as it is a terrific event, a great nature experience and really tough challenge. I take part together with my best friend Daniel, best man at my wedding in June. It is going to be an extreme run. Both of us have run City Marathons, but this is going to be very different.

I have chosen a small charity this time, Valleys Kids, who supports young people in the deprived communities of South Wales valleys. The need right on our door step remains sometimes forgotten. Here is the official charity synopsis:

Valleys Kids is a charity based in South Wales with a 34-year track record of working with disadvantaged children and families.

Our work is about changing lives for the better. These Valleys now rank in some of the most deprived areas of Europe. Valleys Kids works alongside local people to improve the lives of children and families in these communities, helping people to help themselves.
