Story
So, here I am again, challenging myself to go way out of my comfort zone. In previous years, this meant doing a half marathon or long cycles… Obviously this was too simple and too easy, so this year, I will be putting my nerves to the test and abseiling down a building (200 Aldersgate) on Sunday 5 October.
For those of you who know me, you will know that I am petrified of heights so this challenge is so beyond my comfort zone, I think it might give me immunity from challenges for the next 10 years :) To give you an example of my fear, when I was about 10-11yrs old, I froze on top of a swedish bar during a PT session at school. The teacher had to come up to rescue me in front of the whole class…. yup, this challenge was a good idea!
My thought is that my "journey" down the building will be nothing compared to those who face a tough journey after a cancer diagnosis.
So, here comes the begging bit, if you have money to spare or would like to support me on this mad challenge, please donate. Research is the only way we can fight this horrid disease.
Thanks
D
