Based in Andover, the Countess of Brecknock Hospice provides palliative and end of life specialist care to people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Outstanding care is given wherever it is needed, this can be within the inpatient unit, the day care facility or the patient’s home.

Story

Hi All,

Yes you read it right, and are not on the wrong page; I  am going to be running 10k. My fitness levels are currently at an all time low - even hearing the word exercise makes me out of breath and that is no exaggeration.

Me and eight others - who are also more frequently found at the pub or napping are going to be running 10k. We will be putting ourselves through this for an amazing cause. But more importantly to show support and solidarity towards our best friend Jacob and his mum Jo. Who recently lost their dad/ husband  Chris after a long battle with cancer.  Chris was a generous, kind and fun loving man who will be greatly missed by all. It would be incredible to raise money for such a great cause in his memory.

All donations will be going to The Countess of Brecknock Hospice who provides respite and palliative care to adults suffering from life-limiting illness. Chris spent some time here during his final days. During this time they did a wonderful job in making him comfortable and supporting his family.

They are hugely reliant on voluntary donations and put simply, if we don't support the Hospice, it won't be there to help when it is needed in the future.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated  x
