Story

The Background

For the last 12 months, my sister has been “kicking Cancer’s arse”.

To be fair, she’s done a pretty good job. After 2 operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy she is now rebuilding her strength for the life that lies ahead :)

Her attitude has inspired us all. She’s been amazing.

I’m the wrong sex to do the Race for Life so I’ve come up with my own personal challenge to raise money for Cancer Research and celebrate my sister’s resilience and determination to make a full recovery.

The Challenge

On Saturday 28th July I am going to cycle the 127 miles from Liverpool to Leeds along the aptly named “Leeds to Liverpool Canal”.

It’s not an easy ride and I’m not super fit. The canal is obviously quite flat but the quality of the towpath, for a lot of the journey, is quite poor. It’s 127 miles of peddling with very few opportunities to freewheel

I would like to complete the ride in one day. That might be slightly optimistic but it needs to be a bit of a challenge…..

The Question

I know sponsorship events are pretty common these days. You probably get a request every week. Whatever your answer to my question is, thank you for reading this far!

But……no matter how small a contribution someone makes, I can claim the Gift Aid on it and every penny will spur me on when my legs feel like they’re about to fall off and I’ve got blisters in tender parts....

It’ll probably be raining, my bike will probably be falling to bits. I might even slip into the canal. Who knows?

Please will you sponsor me?

Thank you.
