Story
In January 2012 my gorgeous baby girl was born, happy, smiling, and apparently healthy. But at six months old Kitty started falling behind on her development milestones, and by her first birthday it was clear that something was wrong. Although she was still happy and smiling, she wasn't doing many of the things that one year olds do.
It was then that we first heard the words 'Angelmans Syndrome', and a few months later, genetic tests confirmed that this was what Kitty had.
ASSERT - the Angelman Syndrome Support, Education and Research Trust - were great for giving us realistic yet positive information about what to expect as Kitty grew older and for putting us in touch with other families who had children with Angelmans.
So on the 17th August, some friends and I will be walking a 20 mile + loop from Lewes, along part of the South Downs Way, and back into Lewes to show our appreciation for ASSERT and the work they do. You can see the route we're going to take here: http://www.walk4life.info/walk/lewes-south-downs-circular
