WE DID IT!! Cha cha challengers successfully reached the summit of Scafell Pike on Saturday 5th May 2012! WELL DONE LADIES!
15/09/2011 update:
SCAFELL - part 2 will now be attempted over weekend of 5th May 2012!
5/9/11 Thank you to everyone who have donated money for Alzheimers.
Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions we were unable to complete the trek on 3/9/11 as had to turn back. We were able to reach Ruddy Gills (approx 1/2 way) before heavy rain stopped us.
I am extremely proud of our group of intrepid trekkers and for their courage / stubborness to get as far as we did....
but ....Scafell Pike!! We Will Be Back!!!! ...... we will be planning Part 2 in May 2012! New motto - Never give up!
14 women, whom the fates have seen fit to bring together (long story!), have been inspired to climb Scafell Pike on 03.09.11 in honour of my Dad and others we miss, and to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. This is a real challenge for us all, well out of our usual comfort zones, but we do feel that there Ain't No Mountain High Enough to stop us showing our love for the special people in our lives.
750,000 people in the UK are affected by dementia with figures set to rise. The Alzheimer's Society provides information & support for people with all types of dementia & those who care for them.
So please dig deep and donate now & help others get the support that my family did.
