Story
We will be joining my like-minded crazy colleagues…to jog, walk….crawl!….100km over 24 hours. The route is from Devils Dyke to Winchester via the South Downs Way. If this wasn’t hard enough…we will also be given mental challenges along the way!....i’m sure this is a tactic to keep us all awake!
Why?....to raise money and awareness for Elifar.
The name Elifar stands for ‘Every Life Is For A Reason’, a philosophy which serves to remind us all that everyone deserves to enjoy the
minimum standards of comfort and happiness, though for those with severe disability these are often not easily achieved. The financial, physical and emotional cost to them and their families is enormous and any help we can give will often be life changing, and always gratefully received.
The Elifar Foundation is a small charity which helps to improve the lives of children and adults with severe learning difficulty and associated physical disability. They provide grants for a variety of items including electronic wheelchairs, specialised seating, eating aids, special beds and trikes, hoists, communication devices, sensory equipment and specialist holidays.
This is the first challenge we’ve signed up to that we're not sure we'll be able to finish…a frightening distance!....but the cause will hopefully push us through the pain…you’re encouragement and support is, as always, greatly appreciated.
