Story
<p>On the 15th November 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As you can imagine we were devastated beyond words. The consultant felt the best way forward was for me to have a double mastectomy, and on the 8th December I had the surgery. Two weeks after the surgery we got the results, they got ALL the cancer........... there was no need for chemotherapy or radiotherapy it was an incredible moment when we heard the news. I will continue to have Hormone Inhibitor Therapy for the next five years and of course regular checks. <br><br><br>I cannot fault the treatment I received while under the care of Worcester Royal Hospital Breast Care Unit, it also made us realise without the work of Cancer Research UK my diagnosis may not have been so quick. Now I am on the road to recovery and I would like to give something back. I should say we would like to give something back. My husband Keith has been with me every step of the way and supporting me with the upcoming fundraising events.</p>

<p>Our interests are in Hot Rods, we own an original 1928AR Model A Roadster and a 1928 Model A Coupe Hot Rod. We go to as many local events and meetings as we can. It is great to meeet up with our friends in the hot rodding world. One of our main events is held at Shakespeare County Raceway near Stratford on Avon, there Keith runs our cars up the drag strip, where you are timed over the quarter mile against another car.</p>
<p>It is my intention to drive one of our cars at the September event, trying to beat the time set by Keith..............quite a challenge as I have yet to even drive the car on the road let alone race...........!!</p>
<p>We have been given permission to fund raise during two events at 'Shakey' the events take place in June (23/24) and September (15/16), we are going to be taking buckets around the hundreds of people over the two days AND I'm going to raise sponsorship to race the car over the 1/4 mile in September....................... </p>

<p>The aim is to have a 50-50 split on ALL money we raise locally between Cancer Research UK and the Breast Care Unit at Worcester Royal Hospital</p>
