The Dorset Combat Stress Lecture and Supper · 25 May 2012

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

<p>Thank you for visiting the <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Dorset Combat Stress </span></strong>JustGiving page.</p> <p>Our Dorset Committee has organised a <strong>Lecture at Clayesmore School on Afghanistan</strong> given by two distingushed speakers, the journalist Robert Fox and General James Bucknall, Deputy Commander International Security Assistance Force and Commander British Forces Afghanistan 2010 - 2011, on <strong>Friday 25 May</strong>. The lecture will be followed by <strong>supper parties kindly volunteered by friends and supporters.</strong> <span style="color: #0000ff;">Thank you so much for</span> accepting their invitation to the lecture and supper and <span style="color: #0000ff;">agreeing to make a donation</span>. All costs have been met by sponsors, including the reception at Clayesmore which has generously been given by the School. As a result <span style="color: #0000ff;">every penny donated will go straight to Combat Stress </span>and, if eligible, will qualify for Gift Aid. Please opt for this uplift if you can.</p> <p>Our evening is supporting The Enemy Within Appeal. This is a three year Combat Stress campaign launched in 2010 by HRH The Prince of Wales.This campaign is designed&nbsp;to help treat the escalating number of psychologically injured Veterans who are turning to Combat Stress for help. There are three clear aims:</p> <ul class="highlight"> <li> <div>Enhancing clinical treatment at three short-stay residential centres and providing access to specialist clinical&nbsp;support in the community<br><br></div> </li> <li> <div>Raising awareness of the plight of Veterans with mental health injuries<br><br></div> </li> <li> <div>Encouraging Veterans and their families to seek help earlier: it currently take&nbsp;13 years from Service discharge</div> </li> </ul> <p><em>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
