"Brighton to London" on a ricketty old bike! · 12 July 2014

At Christians Against Poverty, we equip local churches to support people facing debt and other financial challenges. We campaign for a redesigned society that works for everyone, including those on the lowest incomes. Find out more about us at capuk.org or follow us on social media.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It's an hour on the train or about 62 miles on a bike!  Seems like a fun way to spend 5 hours with friends and raise some cash for a very worth charity.

The charity (CAP) supports people who are in financial difficulty.  For many, this has a huge impact on their state of mind, health and family.  For those of you who read the Daily Mail and perhaps have a less sympathetic view of people in need, the charity does this by helping those people get to grips with their finances and come up with a long term (but importantly a feasible) plan to re-pay their creditors.

Given the times that we live in, the people approaching the charity face very real problems.  The charity gives debt support and debt counselling completely free of charge to anyone who wants the help so if this is something that you want to get behind, helping people get back in control of their finances and working to walk free from debt, please do make a small donation.

My fundraising target is not particularly high and, if enough of you care (say 55 of you) and donate say 15p a mile, then CAP will get a healthy donation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I'll get some training montage clips and photos up in due course.

Le depart is at 830am from Blenheim Grove.  Those interested please feel free to join at the finishing line in Brighton for fish & chips and a dip or at the Victoria Inn on Bellenden Road early in the evening of Saturday 12 July 2014 to watch the 3rd/4th world cup playoff.
