Story
Hello everyone
Round 6, 7 & 8 of Dougals marathon journey. This time its part of a relay team event to run from John O'Groats to Lands end (as well as doing the Amsterdam and Cologne marathon's).
30 days, 3.5 marathons - not quite that Eddie Izzard but it won't be easy so please give the Microloan foundation some of your hard earned cash to help women in Malawi and Zambia grow their businesses. What happens is they get some seed investment from the charity and pay it back at interest rates much lower than local banks - the money keeps getting recycled to others so its sustainable suppport rather than aid! I was lucky enough to visit Malawi in April 08 and it was a truly worthwhile cause.
As always with justgiving, its great because you give and give even more because your tax is added to the donation. Please do give generously and thanks in advance
Andrew
To make this a bit more interactive this year I'm going to suggest the following:
1. You donate anything you can
2. You choose a song - anything you like - cheesy, rocky, folky, annoying, happy, whatever
3. I buy the tracks you recommend and put them on my running ipod to remind me of you - I listen to this over the 16 hours I am expecting to be running in sept/oct
4. I burn all the tracks onto a cd and send them out to you after the event
This could go hopelessly wrong - one person might sponsor me and I have to listen to abba on repeat for all this time. Equally it could be a winner for us all - Microloan gets some much needed cash and you get some free (slightly illegal music). Who's in?
