The ride was completed successfully and life is back to normal-ish. It was a great time and I really enjoyed the challenge and seeing the country. Thank you all who have donated so generously - it's really fantastic. Go and have a look at Water for Kids' webpages (waterforkids.org.uk) for more information on the brilliant work they do. The trip is documented with some photos in a blog.

More than halfway now, delayed a bit with bad weather but still with time in hand. For a full update, see my blog at douglas-muir-end2end.blogspot.com. Thanks to all who donate so generously.
Are we nearly there yet?
On Sunday 15 May I’ll be setting off from Land’s End on my bicycle, heading for John O’Groats. I’ll be joined on this (daft?) adventure by my friend Robert from Mears Ashby. On the way we’ll be taking in the sights of the most southerly point of mainland UK (Lizard point) and the most northerly (Dunnet Head) and a fair few places in between.

Our perseverance with training over the winter is paying off and we're now enjoying cycling without having first to put on 4 layers of clothing. Of course, we’ve not done as much training as we’d like, but I feel vaguely confident about the journey apart from one thing – the prospect of getting back on the saddle the second day!

Some words from JustGiving:

“Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.”

On behalf of those who will have safe drinking water because of your contribution – thanks for your support!

Douglas
