On the 3rd of June, Dan Moat and Chris Wigglesworth will be cycling the length of Britain to raise money for the East Angian Childrens' Hospices. But instead of following the traditional Lands End/John O'Groats route, they will be cycling the opposite diagonal from Dover to Cape Wrath at the North West tip of Scotland (full route). Covering some 1,000 miles and ascending over 55,000 feet in just 12 days, this will be no holiday! Amongst the pain, the sweat and the tears, one of them is bound to ask 'Remind me again, why are we doing this ..?'
It's quite simple really. It costs around £4m a year to operate the Childrens Hospices in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. That's £11,000 per day, every day of the year. Without the income from charitable donations, the hospices would not be able to offer the much needed support to the families of children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
So please dig deep and help Dan and Chris to raise enough money to fund the hospices for 'just one day'.
