Wilmslow Half Marathon 2014 · 23 March 2014 ·
I've joined my university's cross country club at the start of this year and I can't think of any better way of raising money than by running in my very first half marathon. Considering I struggled to run 5km just 6 months ago, I think it will be a great personal achievement.
There are 60 runners, and all raising money for Spinal research. Our aims are to raise a lot of money for a great charity, get fit and also raise Spinal Research's profile throughout the country.
This team are running for Spinal Research for a variety of personal reasons, but I'm running on behalf of my friend's father and all victims of spinal nerve damage.
My friend's Dad broke his neck in 2002, and was paralysed from the neck down permanently. This has therefore brought Spinal Research very much into his family's life. We all dream that one day paralysis can be cured.
Spinal Research is a very small, yet world leading charity. Anything you can give makes such a difference, and is massively appreciated by the Charity and the whole team.
Thanks very much.
