Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page(s)!
Over the summer I ran 10km for the first time ever and found myself strangely enjoying running! :) So, a week ago when a colleague at work challenged me to a half-marathon, I felt I couldn't say no!! Although after the first week of training, running is suddenly not quite so much fun!!! :)
But, what does make it all worthwhile is knowing that someone else will end up benefiting and that I can support those that really deserve all the help they can get...
There are 2 charities in particular that mean a lot to me, and I’ve had to create 2 JustGiving pages to help support them both. If you do feel that you’d like to donate something (even if small), you are welcome to choose one (or both!). This page is dedicated to the Down's Syndrome Association, but the other page is for Help for Heroes and the link is below.
Down’s Syndrome Association
My darling little nephew George was born with this condition earlier this year. We always knew he’d be gorgeous and to us he really is just George, but this association gives so much information from right when a baby is first born through to adulthood and beyond. It provides guidance, support and feedback and helps to change perceptions and attitudes, which are very often archaic and out-dated
Help for Heroes
The work this charity does is truly amazing… Set up only 2 years ago, it has already done so much. I’ve always had a lot of respect and admiration for soldiers, though unfortunately their bravery on the battlefield is not always given the reward it should. Whatever opinions are on war in general, or the Afghan / conflicts in particular, the soldiers that sacrifice their lives so that we might have better ones deserve support. Help them carry on being the best that they can be…
