Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

OK OK OK I know that 2 years ago when I cajoled, harangued, begged, pleaded ,blackmailed, and maybe even bullied you into sponsoring me to trek for Macmillan Cancer Charities to Machu Picchu in deepest Peru I vowed that I would never ever, ever do anything like that again...in a million years....BUT

On Day 3 of that jaunt in the Andes when we had just laboured for 10 hours up to "Dead Woman's Pass" at 16,000ft I had a bit of an epiphany..... It was probably the onset of altitude sickness (although I was assured that old people don't get that because their brains have shrunk) ...but I had an amazing feeling of achievement ...and it surprised me..I mean lets face it I've managed a few modest goals in my 57 years on the planet..... I really want that feeling again!!

So I'm packing my rucksack and sleeping bag and I'm off to a different continent for a leisurely stroll in the Himalayas! I'm leaving the first week in November 2012 and I'll be gone for 10 days.

I'm in training again...walking along the A41 at night is probably not entirely representative of what I will be doing in November but it's better than nothing!

I really was proud that last time I managed to raise so much money for Macmillan, it is a fantastic charity and I see its work in action every day of my working life. I'm not striving to raise as much this year but would still like to top £5000.

I was a bit hurt last time when a couple of people felt that they were sponsoring me so that I could have a "jolly holiday"....trust me, when I go on holiday it involve beaches, luxury and vast quantities of cocktails...not pooing into a hole in the ground and carrying my home on my back........Still if anyone does feel that way let me totally reassure you that EVERY PENNY that I raise from sponsorship gifts will be going to Macmillan and (like last time) all of my travel costs etc will have been paid by me!!! (OK off the soap box now)

So please cough up.... anything you can spare will be very gratefully received...no amount is too small (nor too big...haha).

I will be attempting anothe Blog but to be fair I was pretty rubbish at the last one I did!!! I'll post the Blog address when it's up and running!
