<p>Firstly - thank you for taking the time to visit my 'Just Giving' page.</p> <p>I am Dr Peter Carter, Chief Executive &amp; General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing. However, that's not why I'm raising money.</p> <p>I am hoping to take part in a very special charitable event here in the UK - <strong>but I need your help. </strong></p> <p>I am raising money on behalf of the Royal Marine's Charitable Trust Fund. To do this, I'll be working with the Commando's Spirit Appeal. Their mission is to raise &pound;1m for the Trust by 2014.</p> <p>To do this, they allow people to take part in certain events that push them to the limit.</p> <p><em><span style="color: #ff0000;">The first event in this series is "Escape the Dunker". Set to take place in Autumn 2011, participants must take on the "Dunker" - an underwater simulator which recreates a helicopter crash at sea, something used to test the survival skills of every training&nbsp;Royal Marine. </span></em></p> <p>However, in order to qualify, participants need to raise the sum of &pound;10,000 (just for the luxury of being plunged into cold water!)</p> <p><strong>Can you help me out? </strong></p> <p><strong>Giving anything you can would be very gratefully received.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
