My story

Well some of you will know that I now run the charity Who Cares? Scotland http://www.whocaresscotland.org/

Put simply, it is our job to make sure that the voices of young people in care are heard and improves the way they are looked after/brought up.

We do this by using advocates to speak on behalf of young people or by supporting them to have the confidence to speak for themselves.

This is a crucial role in making sure that we as a society look after our most vulnerable young people to the best of our ability.

To aid us to do this I’m afraid we have an ongoing need for funds, so to entice you to give I am going to walk over burning coals this Saturday evening in Perth.

This is particularly onerous for me, as my hefty carcass will be pressed down on my very flat, size 14” plates of feet.

The other matter that is causing me nearly as much angst is that it will mean I miss the Scotland rugby game…

It would be great if you could go to my just giving page to make a donation towards this painful Saturday.

We are only a small charity so any contribution counts.

If you would like to make a more regular contribution to Who Cares? Scotland, then please get in touch and I’ll let you know how.

THANKS

p.s. I won’t pester you again in the near future.

Who Cares? Scotland

Charity Registration No. SC026076

Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland's leading national independent advocacy organisation working with children and young people (up to age 25) in care in Scotland. We provide a wide range of services to young people including advocacy, advice, information and support. We also consult and listen to young people, campaign for positive change, help policy makers hear the views of young people, bring young people together and include them in the governance of the organisation. By selecting Who Cares? Scotland you are helping us to continue to make a positive change to the lives of Scotland's young people who are or have been looked after and accommodated away from home. 'It's hard to speak out on your own but by working together we will have a stronger voice'.
