Story
Dear Friends, Family and colleagues.
On 18-20 May I will be taking part in a 3 day mountain challenge with 15 other members of the Wye Association of Novice Climbers.
On Friday we will be tackling the Altura mountain bike trail, a 19 kilometre red grade mountain bike route which includes 15 kilometres of new single track with fantastic views of Derwent water, Bassenthwaite, Helvellyn and Skiddaw from Winlatter Forest, 1600ft above Keswick.
On Saturday is a mammoth 10 hour hike taking in 6 peaks with an elevation of in excess of 6000ft followed by a 3km paddle by kayak to St Herbert's island on Derwent Water for an overnight stay.
Finally on Sunday we shall be tackling some of the lake District's classic climbing routes, such as Botterill’s Slab, Overhanging Bastion, Praying Mantis and Napes Needle before returning home.
All this is in aid of the Prostate Cancer Charity.
