Cycle A Difference · 14 May 2013

Saving babies from their first breath - advancing neonatal intensive care in Vietnam to help close the gap between developing and developed world standards of newborn care. Our work addresses the critical shortage of nurses, trained health workers and basic specialist lifesaving equipment.

Story

In 2013 I cycled for our adopted Vietnamese charity, Newborn Vietnam, almost 1200km in Vietnam from Lao Cai to Da Nang, thats half way down the country.

In March 2014 Todd Gilmore and I are going to complete the 'Dragon Fruit', and cycle from the Mekong in the South up to Da Nang (thats 1100kms in 8 days) - all for the Newborn Vietnam charity.

The charity is a first in Vietnam and is bringing modern Neonatal care to premature Vietnamese babies and saving lives daily - there is no gift in the world more precious than life. Please check out their web site:

Most newborn deaths are preventable, the statistics are overwhelming and scary, every year 3.1 million babies around the world do not survive over a million die on their first day of life? 99.9% of these deaths are in poor countries.
