Story
This year I am trying to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society to help their support for the sufferers of this awful disease.
Almost 4 years ago I lost my Mother to Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's or dementia in general can be gradual as it was in my Mother's case. Starting with the forgetfulness that we tend to associate with getting old to becoming debilitating, where 24/7 care was required for basic functions. It is quite upsetting when family members are not recognised and personality changes make you question .. " is this the person I have known all my life?.."
The one saving grace was the support from those who knew how the symptoms of Alzheimer's could be alleviated through such things as photos, singing and encouragement in other activities.
So please help me support the Alzheimer's society to increase awareness and help support those who suffer from this disease.
Please can you give whatever you can afford, in support of the great work that the Alzheimer's Society does... and do not forget GiftAid if it is applicable to you.
