Story
This year in November Yasser Slatch, Aziz Tejpar, Karim Wissanji, Andy Nagi, Amaar Slatch, Ian Duncan, M Mir, Tinu Khan & Onkar Singh Rai will be participating in the East African classic safari rally which will be held in Kenya. This is a 10 day adventure covering approximately 5000kms across 2 African countries Kenya & Tanzania. This will be a true test of endurance between man & machine. Participants over 16 different countries will be taking part in the international event. There are 60+ entries and some of the participants competing in the event will be supporting the niemann pick charity.
The crews have got together with NPDG UK to raise money & create awareness of a rare devastating disease that affects the lives of sufferers and their families. Niemann pick type c is an extremely rare genetic metabolic condition causing a breakdown in the central nervous system. A build up of cholesterol causing structural and functional, damage in cells and tissue. This is a form of childhood Alzheimer's, once the neurological side deteriorates the outcome is loss of speech, loss of motor skills, seizures, dementia and eventually stop swallowing.
Unfortunately this disease is fatal and there is no cure at present. Children with niemann pick don't usually live beyond early childhood. The disease is so rare that only 1000 cases are reported worldwide.
Our aim is to raise £2 per km from the event to help our chosen charity. With your help and donations we can help NPDG UK for research into finding a cure. We can't lose hope for the children.
