Thank you so much for visiting our EDF Trading Three Peaks Challenge page.
We are a team of 39 who have agreed to undertake the very difficult challenge of completing the Three Peaks in 24 hours! This challenge will see us climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pikes in England and Snowdon in Wales.
Here is a summary of our challenge:
• Climb from Foot of Ben Nevis
• Via Summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pikes and Snowdon
• From foot of Ben Nevis to foot of Snowdon
• Total ascent 2944m
• Total hiking distance approx. 26miles
• Aim to complete it in less than 24hrs!
We need all the support we can get for this gruelling challenge and we are already in training for the event which takes place on 25-26 September 2010.
We, as a smaller team within the 39, have chosen to support the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in our fundraising efforts. WWF - UK WWF-UK is the UK arm of the WWF Network, the world’s leading environmental organisation founded in 1961 and now active in over 100 countries. Using an unique combination of practical experience, knowledge and credibility, their staff work with governments, businesses and communities both here in the UK and around the world so that people and nature thrive within their fair share of the planet’s natural resources. As part of the international WWF network, WWF-UK addresses global threats to people and nature such as climate change, the peril to endangered species and habitats, and the unsustainable consumption of the world’s natural resources. The WWF do this by influencing how governments, businesses and people think, learn and act in relation to the world around us, and by working with local communities to improve their livelihoods and the environment upon which we all depend.
