Story

HAVE YOU HEARD THE BUZZZZ....

Verity, Clare, Conor, Alice, Fergus, Becca and Robin are going to Malawi to build a nursery!!

Last year EGP volunteers partnered the NGO 'Kachimbeka' in Mikule, Northern Malawi in constructing a bee keeping centre aimed at generating income through the sale of honey.

Building on the fantastic success of last year's project, a different team of volunteers are planning to return this year and build a nursery.

The nursery will cater for a total of 86 children aged between 4-7, 19 of whom are orphans. The nursery would be sustained through income from the honey; allowing for teachers and childrens food among other things. Illiteracy has been identified as a huge problem area and a properly equipped nursery school is essential for Kachimbeka to effectively support the education of young children in the community.

The campaign slogan sums up our efforts beautifully! 'HOPES FOR THE CHILDREN'

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!

As a group we're responsible for fundraising £9,967 to pay for the construction of the nursery. All of this money will go directly towards the cost of the project, paying for building materials and the workers wages. None of this money will be used to fund volunteers' personal travel or living expense.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. And if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you very much for supporting EGP Malawi and the community of Mikule
