I've been part of numerous events to raise money for charity, but this will be my first time taking part in an off-shore sailing race. For the seasoned sailor, the Rolex Fastnet race is an opportunity to take on one of the biggest offshore classics in the world of yacht racing. For an ocean-rower without any sailing experience like myself, this 608nm will be a challenge of huge proportions.
Thankfully, I should in safe hands, under the command of RORC Commodore Andrew McIrvine, and his experienced crew in his Beneteau First 40, La Réponse
