Story

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

On Monday 1st October, our 11 riders arrived at EMCOR Cheadle having successfully completed the 4 day ride from Eastleigh.

In total, each rider cycled just over 270 miles, and climbed over 8,000 feet of elevation - and mostly in wonderful sunshine; some how we managed to completely avoid rain over the 4 days!

A big thank you to our friends, colleagues and supporters for all of their support, and messages and of course for sponsoring us and helping to raise over £13,000 for Breast Cancer Care.

A special thank you to our support team on the ride - Angela, Alison, Janice and Jayne - for looking after us!

Thank you also to our corporate sponsors - EMCOR, Vauxhall, BaxterStorey and Eurest, for helping to make this possible.

We've updated our photo page below - and every rider is bursting to share his anectodes from the trip.

Again, a very big thank you from all of the team for your support.

Thank you for visiting our team fundraising page.

Starting on Friday 28th September we will be cycling some 300 miles, in 4 days, between the two EMCOR offices at Eastleigh, Hampshire and Cheadle, Cheshire.  We hope to raise £ 25,000 in sponsorship for the charity Breast Cancer Care http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/.

In recent years, a number of our close colleagues and their families have been directly affected by this terrible disease, and Breast Cancer Care provide vital information and support for sufferers, and campaign and work for improved detection and treatment. Every year 46,000 people receive the news that they have breast cancer. Thanks to the generous donations of people like you, Breast Cancer Care will be there to help anyone affected.

Thanks to kind sponsorship from EMCOR and a number of our suppliers, all of our travel, accommodation and expenses costs for the 4 days are fully covered, and as each rider is providing his own bike and equipment, every penny donated will go directly to our chosen charity.

The Riders: Ian Meaden, Dave Roberts, Christopher Kehoe, John Valjalo, Jeremy Campbell, Shaun Collins, Nick Morris, Mike Walton, Chris Lang, Chris Tighe and Martin Everett.

The Support Team: Jayne Drummond, Alison Bettany, Angela Broster, Janice Shepherd and Jonathan Gawthrop.

Our Route:

Day 1 - Eastleigh to Cirencester

Day 2 - Cirencester to Henley-in-Arden

Day 3 - Henley-in-Arden to Stoke

Day 4 - Stoke to Cheadle, and finish!

We'll be updating this page with more details of the riders, their training (or lack of!) and our progress.

Thank you very much in anticipation of your support, and if you think you might know someone else who would be interested in supporting us, please feel free to direct them to this page.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Breast Cancer Care. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

So please dig deep and donate anything you can to this fantastic cause.
