In 2009, as part of EMR’s Corporate Responsibility Programme, we established a partnership with The Prince's Trust to support them to reach their goal of helping over 40,000 young people to get their lives working again each year.
Every year, thousands of young people in the UK get mixed up in the wrong crowd, leave the care system without support or leave school without any qualifications or prospects of a job. Often, they feel that no one cares about them and so they stop caring about themselves. But they still have the potential to succeed - if they're given the opportunity.
The Prince’s Trust helps 14-30 year olds who have struggled at school, been in the care system, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. They offer practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance. And it works. Three out of four young people helped by The Prince’s Trust last year went back to school, started a training course or got a job. A fantastic result.
At EMR, we volunteer our professional knowledge as well as fundraise through various activities to help change the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK.
