Decorating the Christmas tree, waiting for Father Christmas to arrive, spending time with friends and relatives and eating delicious food are the things we all look forward to. But for some families, the fun and excitement is tinged with sadness, frustration and the fear that they may start another year of wet days or nights.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">Childhood continence problems can make life miserable.<span> </span>For children and young people, they can damage self esteem, make children feel guilty and prevent them from taking part in normal childhood activities, such as sleepovers with friends.<span> </span>At Christmas time, we all want to relax and enjoy ourselves, forget the worries of everyday life and take time out.<span> </span>For some families, this is just not possible.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">ERIC provides information, support and resources to children, young people and families struggling with childhood continence problems. <span></span>Our support can help parents to understand what causes the problem and what can be done about it, therefore enabling families to cope.<span> </span>Our assistance reduces tensions and frustrations within families and enables families to cope with the problem through utilising support services and management products available (such as bedding protection).<span> </span>Last year we helped around 100,000 children and young people.<span> </span>This is a huge number - but only around 15% of all the children and families affected in the UK. <span> </span>We want to be able to provide information and support to as many children and families as we can.
