The Epilepsy Research Institute’s mission is to radically advance research for the #Onein100 people living with epilepsy. A life free from epilepsy is possible. But only through research We need energetic, adventurous and creative people like you to help us raise vital funds for epilepsy research!

Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. We have chosen to use this opportunity to raise money for two fantastic charities, both are very close to my heart. We will be raising money for Epilepsy Research UK in memory of two beautiful ladies, my cousin Christy and school friend Sophie.

Epilepsy Research UK supports and promotes basic and clinical scientific research into the causes, treatments and prevention of epilepsy.  ERUK is the only national charity in the UK that is exclusively dedicated to funding independent research into this condition.

Epilepsy Research UK supports the work of scientists and clinicians throughout the UK, who are investigating all aspects of epilepsy in both adults and children. They are especially looking at what causes epilepsy, who is at risk of developing it, what goes on in the brain during a seizure, and safer drugs and better surgical techniques to treat it.

We have also chosen the Rhys Daniels Trust, a charity set up by a very good friend of mine, Carmen, in memory of her two children who were affected by Late Infantile Batten's Disease.

We had hoped to do a 50/50 split between the two charities, unfortunately through JustGiving we can't do this and instead have had to set up a team page (https://www.justgiving.com/teams/bethpenneymichellemadden) which has each charity page attached.

Please support our challenge and help us to raise money for such fantastic causes.
