Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Dr Yazaki's JustGiving page.

Dr Yazaki is raising money for Bowel & Cancer Research for the Hypermobility studies undertaken by Dr Asma Fikree and Professor Aziz which is being funded by the charity.

The Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (JHS), which is often also known as the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Hypermobility subtype (EDS III), is a disorder characterised by increased flexibility of the skin and joints, and this is associated with severe muscle and joint problems.

Recently it has been discovered that these individuals can have several problems outside the musculoskeletal system, and this includes problems with the gut and digestive system. These problems can be extremely severe and very difficult to treat but very little research has been done on this.

Professor Aziz and Dr Asma Fikree are doing a very large study to find out what kind of gut problems these hypermobile individuals develop, what causes the symptoms and what predisposes them to developing these problems. By understanding all this, they hope to improve the diagnosis and management of gut disorders in hypermobile individuals.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
