Story

As you know we’re a fanatical bunch of sport and music fans at Ear to the Ground so we tend to get a little bit excited when we get the opportunity to test our own sporting abilities. When our friends over at Manchester City invited us to take part in the charity cycle event, Velocity, which has been set up by Manchester City FC and British Cycling, the Ear to the Ground peloton was quickly formed.

Taking place at the Manchester Velodrome on Friday 22 – Saturday 23 March, the non-stop 24 hour race will see teams from across the UK competing against one another whilst raising funds for the MCFC charities.

After all our Olympic endeavours of 2012, what better way to keep the sporting spirit alive than with our very own cycling team? We are delighted to announce the fresh and highly motivated Ear to the Ground cycling team members are Nick Oram, Natalie Lynch, Kate Doyle, Alice Allen and Ross Mackay. They've been training hard already, and with a few tips from the cyclists who we worked with at the Red Bull Mini Drome, they’ll be more than ready to don the Lycra and hit the track Midday on Saturday 23 March.

Each team, made up of five riders, will have one hour on track during the one day event to show exactly what they are made of. We’re a competitive bunch at Ear to the Ground so our team will be going out there with a winning mentality and plenty of anti-chaffing cream.

We want to help raise as much money as possible so we would be hugely grateful for any donations you can give.
