Ecuador Avenue of the Volcanoes Trek 2013 · 10 October 2013

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Here we go again! Thanks to all of you we raised a staggering £11,600 for the NSPCC from our trek to Machu Picchu in October 2011. We are now going to embark on the biggest challenge yet, a climb up the world's largest ACTIVE Volcano. Cotopaxi in Ecuador stands at 19,350ft, slightly higher than Mount Kilimanjaro and requires crampons and rope to brave the summit. At least we have two years to get exceptionally fit! Once again we will be raising money for the NSPCC in the North West. We will be raising this money by putting on various fundraising events such as Bag Packs, Bucket Collections, Coffee Mornings, Open Gardens and various other sporting activities. We also rely on the generosity of our friends and family so please dig deep and give what you can to this very worthy cause. We will be paying around £1,200 each for this challenge from our own pocket as well as buying all the kit we will need aswell. In these tough times Children and Young People need our help more than ever. Not only will we be raising money for the NSPCC but we will also be raising awareness of this wonderful charity in our local area and around the world. Thank you so much for whatever you can give. Rachel and Andy Walker.
