If your looking at this then I guess you already know that on Sunday 7th November 2010 I will be taking on the gruelling task of completing 26.2 miles through the five boroughs of New York finishing up in the world-famous Central Park. The course challenges thousands of athletes every year pushing even the best to and beyond their limits. I am 19 and this is of course my first ever marathon, and im doing it to raise money for the charity Action For Kids.
So who are Action For Kids? They are a dedicated charity focussed on providing support to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, and the surrounding families it affects, to allow them to enjoy a greater quality of life and discover an enhanced level of independence that would otherwise be impossible for so many. However, such a high quality network of support comes at a price, and in order to keep operating and lighting up the lives of less fortunate young people Action For Kids relies on continued donations. This is of course where me and you come in, with your help, support and sponsorship, Action For Kids can continue to touch the lives of more and more young people and provide them with the support opportunities to maximise and enjoy life that most of us take for granted.
For more information about the amazing work carried out by Action For Kids, please visit their website at:
Just 2 weeks now, its almost here, training has been a struggle with Football and everything else but were getting there and now im just looking forward to it, but please continue to give whatever you can there is no donation too small and it all makes a massive difference.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Thanks everyone for reading and once again please give whatever you can this is a great cause.
