Live Life Give Life aims to raise awareness of organ donation and encourage people to register as organ donors. We educate via campaigns and events, also funding initiatives to improve the welfare of (and outcome for) patients awaiting transplants, whilst also supporting their families.

Story

On October 16th I'm jumping out a plane, while its in the air with nothing more than rucksack and an oversized hanky.  Granted I'll be strapped to qualified instructor, but it is a jolly long way down.

So I thought I'd take this opportunity to publicise a very worthy charity, Live Life then Give Life, as well as highlight the importance and need for organ donations and hopefully raise a few pennies too.

The reason for choosing this charity is that through my new place of work I've been touched by the efforts of one of my colleagues to raise money to save her brother.  He was a father of 4, and at the young age of 35 (only 3 years my senior) was in need of a lifesaving double lung transplant, a transplant he could only get it in the US.  Unfortunately he passed away before the funds could be raised to pay for the operation.

Live Life then Give Life is a charity dedicated to saving and improving the lives of all those in need or receipt of organ and tissue transplants.  Please go to; http://www.lltgl.org.uk/life_stories, to see some of the good work they do.

Please also take time to consider the good that you could achieve by simply registering as an organ donor; https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt/consent.do?campaign=1160
