Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

What started out as a vague idea over a few beers one Friday night has somehow translated into a plan for the 4 of us to get on our bikes and make the 300km or so trip from London to Amsterdam on the weekend of 3-5 August.  We'll be starting out near Stansted and weaving our way to Harwich, then getting the overnight ferry for some brief respite (and probably some Dutch courage in the bar) before cycling along the North Holland coast and down into Amsterdam.  The padded shorts will hopefully help us along, but so will your very generous donations..

We're raising money for the Cancer Treatment and Research Trust - Charing Cross, which helps patients and supports research for choriocarcinoma / gestational trophoblastic disease.  Choriocarcinoma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer which affects pregnant woman.  Late last year, it tragically took the life of Ann Dunning, a team-mate of Helen's with the Holloway Gaels gaelic football club and an inspiration to all who knew her.  You can read more about the disease on http://www.hmole-chorio.org.uk/index.html.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Treatment and Research Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support,

Helen Hagan, Joanna Brown, Hannah Vince and Gary O'Sullivan
