My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
A few years ago my daughter went profoundly deaf which was extremely traumatic for both her and my family. The NDCS were fantastic in both helping us through that and providing ongoing support and I would like to pay them back for this and have decided to join their trek up Kilimanjaro in Africa. Just a few facts about the ‘hill’, at 19,340 ft it is the highest free standing mountain in the world and is a 60 mile trek to the summit which I will do in 8 days, and on average 3 people a year die attempting the climb, most die due to altitude sickness, although the total number of fatalities (due to a variety of causes) is put at between 10 and 15.

So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We represent the interests and campaign for the rights of all deaf children and young people from birth to independence. NDCS believes that the family is the most important influence on a deaf child's development. NDCS supports the deaf child through the family as well as directly supporting deaf children and young people themselves.
